Ikale News publisher, Dr Bolu John Folayan has advised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa against seeking the All Progressive Congress (APC) in April to contest the Ondo State guber election in October this year.

Dr Folayan said in a statement that Aiyedatiwa could only serve for governor for four years after completing the remaining one year left by Aketi.

"This technically and legally means Ondo South must look for a candidate that can run for two straight terms, now that other zones have conceded that slot to us " he said.

According to the strategic communication guru, "we all saw what Dr Olusegun Agagu did for our beloved state but he could not serve out his tenure."

On those who cite Goodluck was lawful for Jonathan as referent point, Dr Folayan stressed:

"I have consulted competent lawyers. At the time Jonathan did, it vas lawful to seek second term. It is no longer the law by virtue of the amendment to the 1999) Act No.16 assented to by President Mohammadu Buhari on 4th of June, 2018.

"It is because of this law that Jonathan didn't run in 2023 even when Buhari wanted to support him.

"Aiyedatiwa will make Ondo South to run only for 4 years.

He will waste our slot in Ondo South, assuming he wins the primaries miraculously "

The Ikale News publisher commended Senator Bolu Kunlere's recent decision to work for mainstream Ikale interest in the gubernatorial election.
