Elder statesman and Former Director General of Debt Management Office, Barrister Akin Arikawe has suggested that the 2014 National Conference Report should be revisited by President Tinubu to chart a path forward for Nigeria’s development.

The Debt Management expert gave his opinion in an interview with IKALE NEWS at his Abuja office, urged President Tinubu to review and implement key areas of the Confab report.

\"They should look at it. There are so many aspects of the report that are useful, like this question of devolution, the federal needs to share the loads, it terms of what they are doing, in order to be able to do it well.\"

\"The states, should take more responsibility as to how to run their local situation. And these administration should look into it and try as much as possible to implement it.\"

The seasoned administrator further emphasized on the need for creation of state police, as this will further strengthen local security.

\"State should have their own police, there would still be a federal police to dictate some common standards. The Southwest as a caucus, they wanted a situation in which the geopolitical zones became units of governance.\" he satted.
